Creative-Style---Creative-Queen-Bees-

Hello Creative QB’s,

What kind of creative queen bee are you? Read on to find out.

One of the biggest frustrations that people share with me is not knowing how to uncover or access their natural creative gifts and talents. (Cause we are all naturally gifted and talented – right? agreed, YES).

The frustration usually comes from uncertainty or lack of clarity. It can feel like something or someone is always stopping, blocking, or thwarting you from what you know lies deep within. Your desire to make, create, and bring the vision of your imagination to your life can be so hidden away, from yourself and others, it can leave you with feelings of resentment, jealousy, and even anger. It can leave you feeling like you cannot see the wood, leaves, or forest for the trees.

That is what I call a persistent creative block.

Much like a personality style, you also have a creative style, and most of the time it runs on autopilot.  So much so, you may often get in the way of your truest gifts and talents. You get in the way of making the masterpiece of your life and it can block you from experiencing purpose and meaning, it can block you from the joy and beauty of creativity.

By identifying your creative style, you become aware of your strengths and weaknesses. It gives you a tool for breaking free of persistent creative blocks through the process of discovery.

When you are aware of the autopilot creative personality style that is always running in the background of your life, you can free yourself instead to explore your gifts and talents. It helps fill the gap in your awareness and connects you to a direct-dial up of discovery, it gets you out of the way, so your gifts and talents can show up naturally – with grace and ease.

There are four creative personality styles. You will have one that is your strongest preference, but in truth, you are a combination of all four with varying degrees of impact.

See if you can identify which one of the four creative styles you are:

Queen of Crystal.

If you are the Queen Of Crystal the cycle of creative growth starts with you. You have the ability to see things first and see it clearly with a good dose of curiosity that gives you Alice in Wonderful vibes. As the Queen of Crystal, you wonder about everything!

For example, your handbag is probably full of notebooks and pens. You make sure you write any questions or thoughts that come to you wherever you are and find yourself often asking, give me all the details.

This can also keep you in a cycle of questioning and doubt and that is a persistent creative block. To help break through such a block, avoid making things overly complicated with soooo much information. All that information may be paralysing your creativity. You don’t always need all the answers and it’s ok to move onto different ideas. Try being more playful, like life was a ball you can bounce around.

Queen of Vision.

Being the Queen of Vision means you are a visionary dreamer and idealist who loves ideas. You think in big ways, often with abstract, broad, and energetic enthusiasm, you probably even dream new ideas in your sleep! As the Queen of Vision, your to-do list (if it’s outside your head) is full of random unrelated ideas written on scraps of paper, the back of envelopes, and post-it notes. You often lose them, but that’s ok because there are plenty more ideas about where those came from.

This can lead to having less clarity around your ideas and may keep you in a spiral of the same idea, blocking new or challenging ideas at the same time.

One of the ways you can unblock your creativity is to give your ideas time to boil and bubble before you let them loose in the world. Give yourself time and space to explore and learn more about yourself or the situation. This will help you connect with your full creative potential and leave that feeling of dissatisfaction behind forever.

Queen of Shine.

Step by Step you always find a way. You are the magic maker, the designer of life, as the Queen of shine you can make ideas and situations sparkly. You will know you are the Queen of Shine from your comparative to-do list. You love listing all the pros and cons before weighing your options and making a workable list you are happy with. Then, when you are finished making lists, you will put the list on the fridge for everyone to contribute to, so you have all the options covered.

When you are so committed to perfection, it can block you cold!

Try this mindset to help unblock your creativity – learn how to live with the imperfection of life, the happy accidents. Not every situation needs to be fixed. If you have a situation in your life that causes you frustration without an immediate a workable situation, let it go through meditation with the practice of non-attachment. The answer you seek will invariably present itself in different ways that will amaze you.

Queen of Spirit

You are the energy of an idea in action. You are the creative action hero in your own life. You make things happen, you know it, other people know it. That old saying, ‘ask a busy woman to do something, that is referring directly to you.

If your to-do list is either a complicated series of arrows and diagrams on a planner board with multi-colored post-it notes or a formula-packed spreadsheet with plenty of milestones and check-ins to quickly get you where you want to be – you are the Queen of Spirit.

Be mindful that your creative block can be creative burnout. Try instead to channel some of that action into developing self-love and intuition. That will help you be more patient with yourself and others.

Can you see yourself in any one of these creative styles, recognise any creative blocks? Keep in mind there are no right or wrong creative styles, just different ways of approaching things which also signifies where your blocks lie. It’s a powerful mindset tool for creating and making a creative life.
